hello, today ill share a work that we have done in ESOL. our teacher has read a book to us. and she gave us some question to answer after that we are supposed to tell something about Athletics. on athletics, on the last of athletics, I watched it and it's fun for me because I think my Kahuwi win.

IDEAS

  1. What was the boy’s wish?  He wishes that the man that made him lie would die

  2. Was the boy’s father strict or lenient? How do you know? I'm pretty sure he’s strict but a kind one he’s son doesn't want to lie but I think because of that strict he wanted the guy to die because he made him lie.

  3. How did the boy usually spend his summer? Getting some milk and selling it.

  4. What was the weekend chore he hated most? Sunday because he would need to clean the church and ready the stuff that they are gonna use.

  5. Why was the boy upset with the old man? Because the old man makes him lie, all of the milk got sold but he feels sad because he forgot to sell one to the old man but only the left out is the one that was not new. So he doesn't know if it’s expired or not. The old man came there and bought milk but he asked if this was the new one’s he said yes.

  6. What did he think he needed to forgive the old man for? For making him lie 



CONTENT

  1. What is a milk round? Not sure 

  2. What is a ‘billy’? (see if you can find a picture and insert it.) in modern days, billy is used to store milk.

  3. What is the “Day of Rest”? Why did the boy think that using the hall in many ways made a joke of this day?  Not sure on this one

  4. What is a “post mortem”? It’s when someone is examining a dead body.

  5. What does “rapt attention” mean? Giving complete attention to other people or something.

  6. Find dictionary definitions for: pious; flop; compelling; gramophone; desire  


Pious - devoutly religious is like how religious you are, how deep is your religious feeling.

Flop - fall or hang 

Compelling - tending to compel, as to force or push toward a course of action.

Gramophone - I think it’s an old phone that was used to call someone.

Desire - desire is like when you really want something that you would do almost everything to get it.
